Sterilization

Our goal at Monroe Pediatric Dentistry is to provide the highest level of cleanliness and safety to our patients and staff. To accomplish this goal we have incorporated the most up-to-date and state-of-the-art sterilization techniques available to dental practices today. Read on to find out about our routine sterilization practices.
BARRIER CONTROLS: As recommended by OSHA and the CDC our office staff wears protective eyewear, masks and new gloves for each and every patient.
STERILIZATION: All instruments are cleaned in a HYDRIM, which is an automated washing system that removes all debris prior to being autoclaved in a steam chamber that reaches high temperatures for the final step in the sterilization process.
DISPOSABLE ITEMS: Disposable items are used whenever and wherever possible and are disposed of after each patient to prevent cross-contamination.
VISTA CLEAR WATER FILTRATION SYSTEM: We have installed a dental water line unit that uses multiple technologies to provide improved water quality and reduce bacterial contamination in all dental treatment rooms. This system is maintained on a regular basis to ensure optimal performance.
DISENFECTANTS: Disinfectants are used on all surfaces both before and after each patient enters the treatment room.
